The aims of FSC can be viewed under the page for Feolin Study Centre. The directors wish to progress the group forward in the advancement of the island but require assistance in several ways. Firstly, financially in the form of sponsorship and donation, secondly contact with partners for various projects, thirdly expert assistance in specific subjects and fourthly information and contacts. Dr Gary McKay, our research advisor, and the FSC are interested in being involved in useful, interesting and well-funded research projects.
The sponsorship or funding of a large display screen for the Feolin Study Centre.
The display room presently provides visitors with hard copy information. A display screen would continually show photographs and information on the island in a more engaging format.
Sponsorship or funding to help look further into the islands past. Perhaps there are groups who want to undertake a specific project.
Any change in the climate could and possibly will have major implications for the islands. We are looking for groups who are interested in research in this area.
There are many opportunities on Jura but no one seems interested in researching the possibilities. We are looking for partners in this field.

Several companies are seeking investors for projects on the island. These include the building and running of a venison-processing unit, which would make better use of all the venison, which is produced on the island. At present most of the meat is exported of the island as a low value product. - Jura Community Business (the petrol station) is looking at avenues of funding for an industrial unit on the site. This would be used to contain a business, which will operate in conjunction with the petrol station. - The building of a traditional working Croft House, which would act as a small crofting/agricultural interpretation centre for the island. Several investors on the island are trying to set up a ‘Jura Investment Fund’. The main aim being to invest in projects like the above and other business ventures on Jura, perhaps expanding to other islands in the future.
