Ardfin

Ardfin Estate, including Jura House and Gardens (centre) with the mountain of Dubh Bheinn in the distance.

Ardfin Estate, or "Ardfin" as said by local folks, is located on the southwest and west portion of the Isle of Jura.  The modern estate owes its origin to the early Campbells of Jura, who were themselves a cadet house of the more well known Campbells of Lorne and Argyll. The Campbells of Jura relinquished their control over most of the island in the early part of the 20th century with the final portion around the main "big house" at Ardfin being sold to the Riley-Smith family around the early 1930s. Since then, Ardfin has reconstituted itself in many ways, with Jura House being let for large holiday groups or for functions such as music camps, while the original house gardens have been magnificently transformed into an Australasian garden. It has to be said that Ardfin is the most forward looking of the estates on the Isle of Jura and that it has adapted over time to new uses for its landscape - from farming to fishing to an exotic garden - Ardfin has it all.

If you are interested in coming to Jura and staying at Ardfin, you can download a more detailed pamphlet here (requires Adobe Reader or Acrobat) to view the Sporting (stalking, game and rough shooting), fishing, both sea and loch, and corporate packages, which are tailor made to the individual's specific requirement, or contact the below, who will be happy to give you more information:
